I want to buy now while the prices are low, but don’t want to build until I am retired. Is this possible?

Yes, you can buy now and wait to build. There is no time requirement for building a home.

Do you require a specific homebuilder, or a specific style of house?

We do not require a specific homebuilder or a specific style of house. Your house plans must be submitted and approved by an Architectural Review Committee before construction. Minimum of 1400 Square Feet. No mobile homes or trailers.

I don’t know of any homebuilder’s in the area?

Not a problem. We can provide you with a list of homebuilder’s who have built homes at Lake Pointe.

What schools are in the area?

Lake Pointe is located less than 10 minutes from Yanceyville Elementary, Dillard Junior High, and Yanceyville Senior High. Lake Pointe is less than an hour away from Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, and UNC-Greensboro.

Are there any yearly dues?

Yes. Lake Pointe Home Owner’s Association fee for 2005 is $508.00 per year.

What types of utilities are at the community?

Lake Pointe has underground power, underground phone lines, and each lot will have it's own individual wells and individual septic tanks (to be installed by owners). Each lot has a perc. certificate for septic systems. No plans for Cable & Natural Gas.

How close is Lake Pointe to the mountains?

Lake Pointe is located at about 800 feet above sea level. About an 2.5 hours west is the mountains, with elevations up to over 5000 feet above sea level. Ski Resorts are also about 3 hours away.

How close is Lake Pointe to the beach or ocean?

It’s about 4 to 5 hours to Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, Outer Banks Area, or Charleston.

How much are property taxes per year?

It's $7 per $1000 of value. Some examples: A $50,000 lot would have about $350 per year in property taxes, a $200,000 lot would have $1400 per year in taxes, and a $400,000 home and land package would have $2800 per year in taxes.

Lake Pointe is located on Farmer Lake with over 20 miles of shoreline and totaling over 375 acres of surface area. Farmer Lake is a quiet, peaceful lake, very different from so many other lakes in the area. Farmer Lake offers 2 boat launches, one right next door to the community. During the summer months you can enter various fishing tournaments, since the lake abounds with many species of fish. There are several things that have made Farmer Lake extremely attractive: a constant water level, water clarity, and the shoreline. Since the city of Yanceyville uses Farmer Lake as their drinking water supply, the water level remains constant, where other lakes in the Carolinas can vary dramatically (some as much as 30 feet!). Water clarity is another reason why people want to be on Farmer Lake. Unlike most other North Carolina lakes, Farmer Lake offers a crystal blue color, since it has a sandy bottom, as opposed to clay. The attractive shoreline of Farmer Lake is one of its greatest assets. Most of the lake displays a natural wooded shoreline since it is surrounded by a 16,000-acre nature preserve, and a 2500 acre Boy Scout Camp.
